Bacon wrapped dates, with brie.

20 ea.- dates
1 ea.- wheel of brie (smallish)
1lb thick cut applewood or hickory smoked bacon
1 C- Dark brown sugar
¼ C- FRESH cracked black pepper
- Tools
Sharp knife
Cutting board
Baking sheet
Toothpicks
Method
- Peel back rind on the brie allow to warm up a bit. Slice all the dates in half but not all the way through. Like a hotdog bun.
- Stuff each date with brie and squeeze shut set on a sheet and place in the freezer for a moment.
- Coat all the bacon in brown sugar and black pepper and cut in half.
- Wrap Cheese filled date in the coated bacon and pick to seal. Bake at 350 spinning the tray every 8 minutes until they are done.
- There are plenty of recipes for these, but I haven't found any that take the time to candy their bacon or use brie. Enjoy!
