- Tools
Shallow container
Saute pan or you can do this on the grill
Measuring utensils
Method
- Combine hoisin sauce with olive oil in a shallow tupperware or pan and place tuna steaks in to coat and marinade. After tuna is coated, allow to sit for about 15 minutes and take the chill off of it.
- Next, mix sesame seeds on a plate and pat tune in them, coating both sides. In a large sauté pan heat sesame oil until it is almost smoking. Carefully place tuna two at a time searing on both sides, repeat this twice. About 3 minutes per side, this is for mid rare- medium steaks, if you wish to cook them farther that is your preference.
- Once seared slice thin against the grain and serve with a swoosh of that fabulous guac and some sautéed boc choy and you have yourself a restaurant quality entrée! Don’t forget to decorate your plate and make it fun!
