Slow Braised Green Beans
Recipe by AdminIngredients
½ Lb- bacon of your choice
3 Lb- trimmed green beans fresh
4 T- minced garlic
2 C- minced onion
¼ C- apple cider vinegar
- Tools
Cutting board
Knife
Measuring utensils
Sauce pot or braise pan
Method
- Wash your green beans and allow them to drip dry.
- Cut bacon into small strips and render until crispy. Remove crispy bacon and reserve it to finish the dish.
- Add the bean to hot bacon fat and allow it to cook down on medium-low heat. This is similar to cooking collard greens. The beans release some of their moisture.
- Once that happens add in the apple cider vinegar and allow to cook until the bitterness has evaporated.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
